Appearance: Derek is a very unusual Chimchar, as he stood taller than the average Chimchar and possessing a more Monferno-like build: bulkier arms and legs with a slightly longer tail-flame. Derek's body is mostly covered in bright, golden orange fur, except for his face, chest, palms, and feet are dark tan in color. His fire actually forms a long tail which could change in coloration and size depending on Derek's mood (Blue: Determined, Orange: Calm/Normal, Red:Angry , Purple: Confused, Bright Orange: Ecstatic)

Accessory: A rather long dark red scarf with black and gold trims wrapped around his shoulders and chest, which could function as a harness for Cael (Derek's Honedge companion) should he decided to drop by.

Height: 2 feet, 5 inches (0.8 Meter)

Weight:  33.4 pounds (16 kg)

Build: Lean and athletic.

Personal Information

Characteristic: Often lost in thought.

Overview: Derek is generally quiet and preferred to observe things before engaging someone into a conversation or any other activity. Due to unknown reason, Derek has a very guarded nature and has a very tense posture around other mons. Though he is very much more relaxed if he's with someone he know well. If he approached by someone he doesn't know, he'll regard the stranger with suspicion until he could determine whether the mon's intentions are good or bad. 

In Conversation: Derek talks in a casual, albeit stiff and downright calculating manner, especially to strangers. He'll get angry easily if he was pushed and prodded around. But he'll talk in a more relaxed and friendly tone around his friends.

At a Glance: Amnesiac, suspicious Chimchar with a slight temper.

Closer Bond: A likeable teenager with a slight childlike wonder albeit with the tendency to brood on times.

Dislikes: Pompous, know-it-all mons who think they know every single thing in the world. Sitrus Berry. 

Fears: (Currently) Not being able to recover from his amnesia.

Goals: (Outwardly, at least) Discovering the secrets of the Labyrinth and to find his missing memories.

Combat Information

Battle Style: Derek practices a unique fighting style which involves all of his limbs, including his tail. If he was given a weapon -or fighting along side Cael, he will incorporate a hit-and-run style, hacking at his opponents with the weapon/Cael.

Prowess: Derek shared his views with Ardor. He enjoys sparring and some friendly fighting. 

Strengths: Strength and Intelligence. Derek packs quite a lot of strength. Coupled with his Iron Fist ability, it makes his punches quite deadly. He is also known to be quite the strategist, more so than Ardor. In a fight, Derek could use his surroundings to his advantage easily.

Weaknesses: He doesn't really have the the required speed and agility to dodge incoming attacks. Most of the time, he endures the blows aimed at him before he counters. Though, Acrobatics helped a bit in improving his agility.

Ability: Iron Fist. (Derek's punches is 20% stronger -and deadlier- than others)

Move Set

· Move 1: Fire Punch (Derek throws a succession of powerful and scorching hot punches from his flame encased fists.)

· Move 2: Acrobatics (Derek moves with impressive amount of agility, attacking his opponents with aerial and ground attacks)

· Move 3: Double Kick (Derek could deliver a series of strong kicks to his opponents before distancing himself away.)

· Move 4: Protect (A semi-transculent dome materializes around Derek, protecting him from most attacks.)

Stat Breakdown

Strength: 4 (Derek packs a lot of strength, which he channels through his punches and kicks. One punch alone could leave a huge crack on the wall.)

Intelligence: 3 (Derek have a good level of intelligence. He's well versed in some subjects, namely applied physics and Pokemon anatomy. He's also very observant, able to notice subtle changes in his opponent's body language.)

Agility: 2 (Derek's speed and agility is decent. Compared to Ardor, he's pretty slow. But Acrobatics covered this handicap slightly.)

Charisma: 3 (Derek's speech ability is fairly adequate. Being a Chimchar, he doesn't have as much charisma. Though, he enjoys the company of other mons.)

History

Pre-Initiation

Derek's history before arriving in Andalusst was unknown, as he emerged from the fog with amnesia. But he did found a small journal inside a tattered rucksack he carried around. Apparently, he has a Honedge companion called Cael, who suggested that he write about his journey through the fog as a memento. He found out that the fog was one of the cause of his amnesia from the passages inside his journal. Deciding that he should at least ask around the fog-free town standing in front of him, Derek disposed the tear-ridden rucksack and walked into Andalusst with the journal on his hands.

Joining

Derek crossed paths with Ardor in Andalusst. They bumped into each other, and Derek almost fell from the impact. After apologizing profusely to the Quilava, the Chimchar was about to leave when Cael appeared and approached the Quilava, who was knocked out could seconds later after the Honedge wrapped himself around the fire type. Cael then separated himself from the Quilava and told Derek that he should stick with Ardor, for now, as the Quilava holds the key to his memory loss. Thus, when Ardor stated his desire to join the Hunters, Derek went along with it, as he had hopes that the shady guild might have known something about him and Cael.

Relationships

Ardor: Derek regarded Ardor with high curiosity and respect, since the Quilava is the team leader and his apparent guardian.

Darius: Being his mentor and close friend, Ardor viewed the shiny Blaziken with high regard. He even sometimes viewed Darius as his own brother despite the age gap. Darius had taught everything Ardor knew, especially in his swordsmanship and combat style.

Cael: Derek seemed to have known Cael for a long time, and from their conversation, the Hondege had been with the Chimchar through a lot of things. Cael have an extensive knowledge about a lot of things, especially about combat.
